B6277 Cotherstone, Barnard Castle

Phased Temporary Road Closure

An Order is being made under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close to vehicular traffic under phased temporary road closure, except for access for emergency service vehicles, daily between 7am and 7pm from Saturday 24 October 2020 a 1045 metre length of B6277 Cotherstone, Barnard Castle between its junction with Briscoe Lane in a southerly direction to opposite 12 Birkett Close.

The closure is necessary to enable phased carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken which will probably take some 9 days to complete to be carried out to that length of road.

Throughout the period of closure, an alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the southern side of closure in an easterly direction on A66 to Rokeby, then northerly on C165 and C146, then north westerly on C44 Westwick Road and Newgate, then north and easterly on A67 through Barnard Castle town centre, then northerly on B6278 to Eggleston, then westerly on B6281 and north westerly on B6282 to Middleton-in-Teesdale, then southerly on B6277 through Mickleton and Romaldkirk to northern side of closure and vice versa.
